Valleremita is located 490 mt s.l, inside a narrow valley surrounded by the mountains Puro and Rogedano on one side, and Monte Fano on the other one, and it's one of the various hamlet of Fabriano, far away from it just 7 km.
There aren't trail of pre-roman or roman settlements, but just some clues that let suppose the exinstence, in medieval age, of a rural village; in 1200 Valleremita is already mentioned as administrative district of the municipality of Fabriano.

ValleremitaAccording to some people, the name Valleremita arise from the close Eremo di Valdisasso, known in the territory as Eremo of Romita or Romitella; in the opinion of others its name derives from the ancient name of its church, S. Salvatore in Valle.
The church, dedicated to Tranfiguration of  S.S. Salvatore, hedge in an interesting painting by school marchigiana of XVII century, assigned to Lelio Leoncini di Rocca Contrada (Arcevia), representing Madonna del Rosario with saints Girolamo, Domenico, Caterina, Romualdo and the 15 mistery, in addition to another canvas of San Silvestro, by unknown author.

In addition to folkloristic demonstration like Festival of fisarmonica and organetto and Festival of Saltarello, deserve to be mentioned also the races of  "ruzzola", a traditional game played in many sites in the centrer of Italy.

Yearly recurrences celebrated in Valleremita are: the pilgrimage dedicated to S. Silvestro on the third sunday of May and the procession dedicated to the Nativity of Madonna, on the first sunday of September.

THE GREEN CLASSROOM
In Valleremita there's a laboratory, consisting in an educational center with meeting room, library, museum and a nature trail with educational boards inside the wood of Valdisasso.
The path shows, in the little space of 1,5 km (from 490 rise to 650 mt s.l), many different kind of vegetation, in some cases peculiar.

For students and also adults the better way to do it is entering the wood in differen seasons and discover its smells, its sounds, the trails of animals, always guided by operators and experts of the Center: an unforgettable experience.
