Layed down at the feet of Monte Ingino, 36 km away from Fabriano, Gubbio is one of the oldest towns of Umbria, wonderfully preserved over the centuries and rich of important monuments.
Set up by the ancient "umbri" people, Gubbio had a great religious importance, as attested by "Tavole Eugubine" of II and I century A.C, and it's considered one of the best medieval towns for its beautiful architectural works, like Palazzo dei Consoli.
Well known for its ceramic and wrought iron works, Gubbio hosts many cultural and folkloristics events each year. |
